Hydraulic tanks are not only oil reservoirs but also important spaces for heat dissipation, contaminant settlement and air separation. If weld spatter, iron chips or paint residues remain inside, they will circulate with the oil into hydraulic pumps and valve groups during operation, accelerating wear and even causing failures.
Therefore, after tank manufacturing, slag removal, cleaning and drying processes are required, sometimes using special cleaning agents and filtering devices. Host-machine manufacturers should also perform secondary inspection before assembly to ensure no coating peeling at return and suction ports.
By controlling tank cleanliness, maintenance intervals can be extended and machine failure rates reduced.
